Yeah cruiser I have to do that to my Cadillac all the time. I run by big blocks a little rich. I use a spray bottle though. Get up in rpms, spray it down then slam your throttle plate closed. water creates steam. steam breaks up carbon buildup. vacuum removes carbon. Mostly concentrated on the suspension right now. swapping entire axles because they're geared. Would rather swap axles then gears. Did the rear today. Doing the front tomorrow. Think I got this picture thing worked out.

HEY! CINDER BLOCKS A NO-NO! NOT SAFE! They are not strong like that. Can crumble with absolutely no warning. My dad was a safety inspector for Cal. OSAH. Big things fall fast. (makes for grizzly evening chat). Like glass, one little point can start a crack, then it's all over.

Glad I could help with the attachments.

O I know. They were used to prevent the front from rolling around and made a great place to sit. Jack stands were used but didn't make the picture.

Another question. The renix has the 231 with the sye mounted to the AX15. The 91 has the 231 without the sye mounted on the AW4. The only difference I have noticed is the vacuum lines coming out the rear of the t case on the renix. Are these T cases interchangeable? As far as the splines coming out the back of the transmissions and swapping the cases with and without the vacuum lines? That way I wont have to pop apart the entire cases to do the switch.

I might shoot that question up to the "ask a question" thread. 27 to 29 splines change at some point....Or maybe PM Freedgr if he doesn't find this...

See top left. On the black bar is "user CP" . There you can find responses to your posts. Mine goes right to "subscribed threads" I forget if I needed to set it like that or if that's normal... I turned off email notification here, but I use that on some other forums.

OH! I get it now. Lots or responses but which is yours...PM Freedgr maybe.

Suspension done. Now on to the engine. Tried the carbon cleanout. Didn't work. Ran it for quite a while. Waiting for it to cool down so I can pull the plugs. You can hear the tap very clear from up above. When you go below you can hardly hear it. I think its going to be a lifter not oiling up. Any suggestions?

Marvel Mystery Oil or REstore added to the oil.

People have posted with worn rocker pivots. Also you want to see oil from all the push-rods with the cover off.

If I could pull off that U-tube deal....well, lets just say I'm "middle of the road", (at best). It's always amusing to listen to stuff....

I've wondered if a guy couldn't apply/dribble solvent down a push-rod to soak a lifter overnight. Someone replied that Kemtool might be too strong and dissolve something you don't want dissolved. Just rambleing.....

Had the cover off. All were squirting oil. Against everything I was taught I did the sea foam. Didn't solve anything. When I get the engine out I'm going to pull the head and investigate. Probably pull the oil pan and the timing cover. Replace all gaskets and hit it with some paint. If all goes according to plan.
