ok here is my experience. I had until very recently a 2" lift with 30" x 9.5" tires on stock rims with 5" backspacing. I ran it pretty hard from moderate climbing to 40mph on the sand and daily driving everywhere. They fit fine for daily driving even over speed bumps. No rubbing on the street or going slow on sand. I usually aired them down to "giggly" when off-roading so the height dropped a bit from that. They did rub at full lock on turns. When running fast or flexing they did rub a lot on the stock fenders but not so much they tore them up at all, just loud and annoying. I would say it was the perfect height for some clearance while still being low enough to easily get in and out of for daily driving and passengers and also not having to change anything else from stock except coils and springs. Now I'm dedicating this car to off-roading so it's being lifted more and trimmed already for 33's. Good luck!

3.5" or 4" jks disconnects
Hey all, currently i have a RE 3.5 lift with the gen 2 disconnects which are wearing the swivel causing chatter. Im asking if i should go with the Jks 3.5" disconnects or the 4" because RE lifts usually run tall, but i dont want to stress the sway bar arms being to short or too tall!

Nothing is better than the offset RE disconnects if you use the hangars that come with them. I would replace them with the same.

Whats better performance wise??
4.5" Leafs with a 1" shackle or full 5.5" leaf packs.
Or I could do the 4.5" leafs with a shackle relocation to gain the extra inch. Just curious which route I want to go.

4.5" with shackle relocation and a longer shackle will give the best ride and performance. But please don't get Rough Country springs. Their 4.5" leafs are one of the worst products of the entire Cherokee aftermarket.

Good to know, thanks. Was planning on RE leafs and HDOffroad shackle relocation brackets. Or ill just fab up some relocation brackets. Any preference on actual shackles?

As a general rule, the less the arch of leaf spring, the better the ride quality and performance.

If you're looking to be at 4.5" with leafs, relocation brackets, and longer shackles, you'll want a smaller lift leaf spring if you're going with the standard HD shackle relocations. Those add some lift as well, so maybe like a 3 or 3.5" leaf spring, relocation brackets and maybe like 1" lift shackles.

Relocation brackets are a very good investment. As springs settle, or you replace them or the shackles, you will always have a good ride as you can adjust the angle to accommodate for change.

The hangar looks different but close enough. I'm not so much sold on the quality of RE but I'm super sold on not being one of the people standing in the snow putting my disconnects back with tie-straps that will break again in a half hour. So it probably doesn't matter much.
