Hey guys so Ive been doing a lot of searching on here and other sites looking for what most people say is the best 4.5 in lift for an xj. I have a 1995 with a 4inch lift already. but the po did the lift and its just not right. I have the stock driveshaft, no tc drop, aal's, and the dreaded lift blocks, stock control arms on drop brackets, and to top it stock brake lines. So my quesions stands at in your own opinion what do you see as the best 4.5 lift kit?

It would rub on turns if I hit an incline at the same time. Try clicking on Magator and then, View Public Profile. Thats the only way I can see the picture. Let me know.

I would also look into rough country, plus the vendor on this forum offers free shipping and a discount. Its all about how much you want to spend though.

From what I have heard zone is an ok company. They are a division of BDS, just cheaper. If you go with that kit get full packs instead of AAL.

I spoke with Grimus, he said they have a 3in aal kit but said he would rather use full packs. He did say it's a decent lift, as long as my springs were ok, which they are not. Bad sag here. he's working up a price for me on a lift with full packs.

Another question I have is if I get this 3" lift with the full leaf packs will I need to get a transfer case? I have a 1994 jeep xj

Hi all!
I've been on this forum for a while now, but I only get my permit in April lol. My dad is giving me his 2000 Black Cherokee Limited
, and hes a gearhead at heart, so he'll be working on it with me.
I'm thinking of putting on a 3" lift with 31's, but I wanted to know if this combo will have any negative side affects on my axels and tranny? My Jeep has 137,000 miles on it if that helps.
Also, should I go with Rusty's or Rough Country?
Im gonna end up swapping out all the fluids too, as well as add a cold air intake and magnaflow exhaust.
Thanks!
George

so i am trying to find out what lift i want meaning how high. i was originally gonna go with a 3 inch but i thought about a 4.5, and it seems more reasonable now that i am making much more money and can afford it.
anyway, i found a kit that id like to go with and it consist's of the following...
4.5 inch front coils
full length 3 inch add-a-leaf
1.5 inch grease-able shackle
fixed front lower control arms
front and rear shocks
adjustable track bar
front sway bar drop brackets
brake line extension and a transfer case drop.
wheew...other than that is there something else that is a
MUST HAVE to go 4.5 inches???
and also..would it be better to get a 3 inch kit and coil spacers and extended shackles??
i have my fenders cut already and have rocked the ***** out of some trails..with goodyear wrangler mt/r's.
im gonna get some thick LTB's for tires so i have that all covered.
i use my xj as a dd until i get another vehicle in a month or two.

Check out the Re3.5 Super Ride kit w/ full leaf packs # RE6025. you will get a minimum of 4.5-5"s. I'm running 33s. Mine is a 94 XJ. AAL with shackles will only sag in s short time. My neighbor did it that way and his rear fenders are down now almost 1" above his 31s now after only 4 months with no weight and hits on any dip in the road. It was a Rough Country Kit.

the kit im talking about is from Rusty's. both kits are about the same price but then id need to get a t case drop and shocks and other odds and ends if i went with RE, where if i went with Rusty's, id get almost everything id need in one package.
Would i need a sye AND a t case drop with eather one i go with??
