I recently bought my '92 Cherokee 4.0 Auto. It runs great after about 5-10 minutes of driving, but when it's cold it hestiates and wants to stall sometimes. It never actually dies and it's not all the time but even cruising down the freeway it cuts out like it being starved of fuel. I checked for vacuum leaks and couldn't find any. Thoughts?

 

Change your fuel filter, see what happens.

 

possibly o2 sensor if its happening cold...

 

Mine will have the rpm dropped for a gd 1 second and it will bounce back up while driving.....if it is idling....it will stall.....just like having a power cut....it will happen every 8-10mins...
Replaced the ASD relay and it is working like a champ again.Try a few relays as 1 of the new relay I bought is faulty too....hope this helps...

 

Sorry for not updating this sooner. I fixed the problem long ago. It was the O2 sensor. Thanks!
