After letting her sit almost 3 weeks because of a dead alt. doesn't want to start. I have to hold WOT to get it to start. battery disconnected 2 weeks....changed the fuel filter & filled it up. Runs AoK Ideas?

 

I know with the battery disconnected that long it will have to learn how to run again.

Mine did that when I was hooking up my stero system because I had it disconnected for a while....I had to hold the throttle steady until it would just run on its own again. Took a good 15-20 minutes. I'd let off and when I heard it sputter would hit the gas again.

 

It has to relearn the fuel map. Take it for a ~50mi trip and it should run fine.

 

I learned the hard way myself, they sell a thing that plugs into the cig. lighter with a 9v battery its just enough to keep the ecm from reflashing itself

Have had no problems till this Sunday morning, now it's starting the same stuff up again......have to hold gas to floor to get started, then it runs rough a little bit & proceeds to drive fine.... ideas please?

 

depending on your location, check for critters in the intake maybe. or the exhaust them buggers get into everything. who knows

 

no critters, gremlins maybe but no critters

 

New Temp. control sensor TCS (the one in front) seems to have fixed it. $15 @ the local parts house Thanks Bob @ Nokomis Auto Center!
