tie rod help pls
I'm replacing most of the front end suspension, and want to know what else I need. I feel like a idiot because I can't figure out what names, rock auto doesn't list all the tie rod ends together, driving me up a wall lol
I have the sleeve, the long rod with the tie rod end, and I ordered this
what are the other two tie rod ends do I need? sorry if this is a stupid question, learning as I go lol

You need 3 x rod ends
a LH and RH (for the tie-rod), and another one that screws into the draglink.
You need to look at diagram of an XJ front end
The draglink one is usually stuffed.
My tie rod ends themselves have over 80k miles on since I got it, and still good

Here is a link that will help you identify the part names see figure 2

Here is another link to Rustys Offroad Parts, they have a nice exploded view and parts list for the steering parts, Note the ball joint on the passenger end of the drag link bar is part of that bar, the driver side drag link ball joint (part 17) is removable however. so you need to buy the entire drag link bar to replace the passenger side ball joint (part number 15)
You then have the tierod end ball joints, parts 19 and 21
in addition you have the upper and lower ball joints for the steering knuckles. these can be both in smooth or knurled versions. knurled is required is the hole they press into on the knuckle has been opened up, once you use a knurled type, you cant go back to the smooth type. this is part 25 (upper and lower as a set) although they can be bought individually knurled or smooth from some vendors.
