WJ knuckles on XJ with stock steering?

WJ knuckles on XJ with stock steering?
Anyone know if you can use stock steering with the wj knuckles or is changing that and the track bar all required?
only reason I ask is a buddy wants to upgrade the brakes but steering is not really a big deal because it’s strictly a DD.
