Did the D30 CAD mod. Vacuum lines really loose and some brittle. Looks like I may have cruise control yet no controls for it. Vacuum lines plugged, brittle, broke, hanging etc. Got annoyed trying to trace what they all went to. Not had XJ long so learning as a problem arises.

Scored ZJ rear disk setup. All parts including pads and rotors are serviceable. Gonna hold off till my Trac-Lok shows up, so I can do all at once. I chose a Trac-Lok because of price and it's a daily. I gotta rebuild it though.

Sent my 97 XJ to the junkyard.

Scrap prices are down. I got almost $200 a few years ago when I had to send my 94 to the same scrap yard. Today I got a whopping $70, and that was with the back loaded with a kitchen stove and other junk.

Ah damn. That sucks on so many levels. I always hate to see XJs get scrapped, and it sucks to see you get so little for it.

I've been spending the COVID19 time making a high effort, low cost set of custom cupholders to replace the crappy plastic add on ones that go over the parking brake lever. So yesterday I laid down some cloth and resin. Today or tomorrow I do some more finishing on it. Hoping to have it done (painted and installed) next weekend. Maybe it'll make it into the cupholder hall of fame

Nice find. Mine needs new brakes and I've been wanting to do this upgrade.

Did a rear main seal (yesterday) and today filled the Jeep with oil and ran it for awhile. No leaks! I feel like I'm a real Jeep owner now after doing that seal.

This is the 3rd time I've done by oil pan gasket. I haven't been able to get it to seal prior to this. Used a bunch of RTV at the front and back this time. I really hope I don't need to remove it again soon because scraping all that gasket material is gonna suck.

You're not a real jeep owner until it starts leaking in the driveway again.

My father in law just bought a zone 3" with full leaf packs, and discovered a coolant leak.. off the transmission. Yay me. Gotta be that rear freeze plug

I have an oil leak that doesnt drop down more than a pint on a 4k oil change. I see it as its letting me know there's still oil in it lol

You don't need the complete valve. Just the guts. As far as if you NEED them? I noticed a difference between having the original and the ZJ. Better braking under hard pressure with the ZJ's..

The daily threw a cylinder 6 misfire code the other day. I have 5 4-hole injectors and one original injector (on cylinder six) as I got a bum 4-hole injector and needed to get the Jeep out of the garage, so I just threw an old injector in to get going again. It's normally fine but every once in a while, it idles rough for the first cold start of the day - and that's when the misfire happens. On top of that, the original fuel pump started needing to be primed unless I want to deal with a really slow start.

So, I decided to just throw parts at it! Bought a Bosch 67658 pump and six "new" injectors from K Suspensions. Hopefully this will fix the very slight fuel pressure issues I've had since I bought the Jeep.

Where did you manage to buy a Bosch?
There are always those threads with people asking which one to buy cause they could not find one.
Every time one of those threads came up I would poke around and not be able to find one either.
So much so that when some guy local to me was selling a brand new Mopar for my '00 for $150 I bought it just for "stock". LOL.

Ha! I found it on eBay and bought the seller's last one. I too have been trying to figure out why they are so hard to find. It was that or a Delphi unit for less, or a Mopar unit for more. $150 for a Mopar pump is an absolute steal! I would have done the same haha.

That is what I thought. He showed me the receipt. I want to say $375 for it. And funny thing was it was from a Jeep Dealership I used to deal with in the '70's and '80's.
When I had my CJ's and Jeep pickup trucks way back when and lived in that area. I used to date the owner's granddaughter so...... LOL.
It is stuff like this that has me hoarding parts. Sensors for one. But it is amazing what is becoming harder to find these days.
One guy on another forum lost his CPS bolts. Had the part number and said he could not find any to buy.
I just bought some about a year and a half ago when I had to do the CPS. Just to have on hand in case.
I poked around and sure enough. Discontinued everywhere.
Also the rear hatch glass molding for the '97 and up. I bought one about 2 maybe 2 and a half years ago when I swapped out all my glass for Factory Privacy Glass.
Some guy says he can't find one. And this was probably about a year ago. Same thing none to be had.
And while they make aftermarket for '96 and down nothing for '97 and up.
So what happens whey you have to replace your hatch glass in a '97 and up?

Had a little look at my new bumper then sent her off to my mechanic because I had no idea how to get the broken crankshaft pulley off.
