Default Help me get a parts jeep home.

1993 Jeep Cherokee Sport

It runs and drives good. It's the stopping that is a problem. The driver side brake line is GONE. I'm thinking about just putting a bolt in the combination valve and dealing with only having a front passenger and rear drums to get home with.

1) On a scale of 1-5 how crazy is this?

2) What thread pitch will the bolt need to be?

I'm only about 40 minutes away.

Brakes are totally optional. Drive really fast and there will be less time for something to go wrong.

ya. that's it. ya.

For those of compromised intelligence: no, don't do that. It was a joke, dang it.

Yeah, I mean if I drive fast enough, either I get it home, or it's not my problem anymore. Know what I mean?

Just go slow & take back roads. In a emergency, hit the shoulder.

Know anyone with a full size truck? U-haul rents a car trailer for $65. Are the possible headaches worth the $65? Where are you located? Perhaps there is a member near by that could give you a hand.

Lol... Reminds me of how people floor it to get to the gas station before they run out. The concept is bewildering...

Why not just take 30 minutes to replace the brakeline and pump it up so it has brakes again?

I had a small leak in my brake line going to work, luckily i have a 87 manual. Realized it before needing to stop, i was able to downshift and use the e-brake to come to a complete stop.

Take it home in pieces, that way you don't have to worry about towing or fixing the breaks.
