It may now look like its done but its not. Still need to hook up the heater core lines and charge the AC back up. Heater core lines will go on when I swap out the radiator and AC will get charged whenever I decide to drive it down to work. After that, I still need to put the new rear shocks on and figure out the leaking valve cover issue. Once all that is done, it will be ready to drive again and for the most part be done!
EBay. I think it was 3/8 thick 5/16 wide for the outlet ducts and 3/4 x 7/16 for everything else. I believe frost king was the brand. They are $4 shipped for a 10ft roll. Cant go wrong.
Alright, its looking like this will be the last Jeep update for a while. 2 reasons why. First, the Jeep is done. Well, as done as its going to be for a while. Going to park it until my current DD goes to a new home. Got the rear shocks on over the weekend and filling up the AC some time this week at work. Then its done.
Secondly, I have a ton of other non Jeep related projects going on and I need to get them done before the end of August. So the Jeeps are officially getting put on hold. List of things to get done. If anyone wants to help out, just swing by! Got plenty of cold beer.
- Finish babies room (almost done)
- Pull weeds and cut up blown over trees in backyard
- Grade backyard
- Put in new sprinkler system
- Add grass
- Finish patio cover project
- Finish trimming bushes/trees in the front yard (almost done)
- Add all new drywall and insulation to the inside of the garage (this might have to wait)
- Redo the entire bathroom in the master bedroom
- Redo ceiling in kitchen and convert to pod lights
- Finish painting
- Get carpets professionally cleaned
I am sure there is still a ton of stuff I am missing. Like I said, dont expect any updates for quite a while cause I am going to be busy with house projects!

And I am going to help mess this up for you with some recent information. lol They are letting a lot of water out right now and the river is up better than I have seen it in many years. Hope in all this you also get a chance to go get wet.

Haha well that is a good thing. Is it high enough to take a boat from Needles to Laughlin? But you know when they let the water out, it makes the water that much colder! As if it normally isnt cold enough... The beach I normally go to is probably non existent if the water is up a few feet. Also, I no longer have a place to go out there. The house has been sold. I dont miss the drive out there but I do miss the place already.
Having said that, I will be on the water this weekend and maybe do some wake boarding! I will be up in Arrowhead this weekend and Big Bear next weekend. Should be a blast as long as its warm enough up there. I have a feeling the water is going to be pretty cold though.

Yep, it is pretty much no sand/rock bars visible from what I saw when crossing it at the AVI bridge. But... as you know that can change by the hour. Do you have one of those handy dandy waterproof river maps? Best investment I ever made man. Shows where all the bars happen to be and where the way points are. It's a must have my friend.
And yep... Big bear is cold even in the summer! lol Interesting factoid... The Colorado only varies about 8 degrees winter/summer, big volume/little volume. It's all in your mind Bro...
As you know... I know this because I am OG River Rat... Just stay under the water in the winter.

Ya I know what you mean. At the AVI bridge, you normally see lots of rocks poking up through the water. I used to take the Seadoos up to the Avi for breakfast and it always felt like I was going to nail one of those rocks. The river bottom looked like it was only 3ft down! I do not, or have ever had one of those maps. Probably would help. Having said that, I have beached a boat accidentally on a sand bar heading back up from Havasu. It was the same path I took on the way down, but like you said, water levels change that fast. I am a river rat too. Been going out there since I was just a little baby. I have traveled the CO river all the way from Lake Mead down to Parker.
Have you ever been to the hot springs that are at the very top of Lake Mohave just a little below the Hoover Dam? You park your boat in a tiny cove, maybe big enough for 4 boats and then hike up a trail for miles. The further and further up you go, the hotter the water gets until its too hot to touch.

Oh yes... Been to the nudist hot springs many times over the years. Sailed and motored there many times. Went to jail above the Indian reservation in the Grand Canyon for sailing a 16' Cat from Lake Mead up the all Rapids and past the warning signs. I really think I could have made it all the way to Glen Canyon if they hadn't stopped me, I was kicking *** with the wind in my sails on that third attempt. lol
I am actually pretty good at sailing... And it would have been a first as far as I know of. I would like to try this again someday.
Bug - Next time I go out your way, you are taking me on a tour to all the secret spots out there! I know you know of a few good ones that I have not been to yet.

Oh absolutely... We need to make a plan of it! Do you like to fish? I know all the good spots. My current river access is in the Northern areas around lake mead, meadview, and the Grand Canyon. My Bugout Property is just outside of the reservation boundary on the rim of the canyon up there.
But I grew up in Needles as you know, so I know the Mohave and the lower Colorado very well. Oh yes... There are some very cool places to hide from all the LA folks down there. But even cooler is that I happen to be "in" with the tribe up in my area. And with permission, there are some absolutely incredible places to visit down in the canyon it's self. Most require a short hike down, but they are always a once in a lifetime type of experience.
By the way... That particular stretch of the lake by the hot springs is where they always release tons of Trout stock to feed the Bass...

I am not a huge fresh water fishing fan, mostly cause I never catch anything bigger then a guppy.... But if you know the spots, I am in! Most of my fishing gear is for the ocean but I am pretty sure I have a fresh water pole still (got to look next time I go down to my dads yacht). My Jeep is still up and running so we can go pretty much anywhere, especially the off the grid spots you speak of. I have explored most of Needles and the surrounding areas but never anything past Bullhead. Could be interesting.

It's time to go north past the dam then! Seriously very cool. Yep... We will hook you a stripper or two and you will be ready for more. Right spot, 25-30 lb test, and a light "sea shore rig" will be needed along with the right bait. But we have to catch the bait first...
