I saw your earlier post on these and bought a pack. I had the same issue. I drilled out the holes to a larger size and still had to use a small screwdriver to force them down into the holes with silicone paste applied. The force required to pull them through the back side would just break the pull-through piece. Once they're in, they're in, and they're better than the stock ones. Thanks!

Sounds awesome! We were going to try camping for a few days and hitting independence too, but it was just way to early. Ouray is on my list too.

Yeah even with me trimming them down they are in there. Between having a good latch and those my console lid barely moves now. But like I said it was USN_BlackWK who did it and was kind enough to post the part number.

OK, props to USN_BlackWK then! Between these and my Dirtbound steel console bracket, my whole console is really solid now. I've had no issues with the latch, but if I do I'll consider one of those in metal as well.

My console bracket is fine. But at some point I want to kinda gut the interior and lay down some sound deadening material. Plus I have to run the wire for the power seats I added under the carpet and console. Thinking I should just buy the steel console bracket and put it in while I am there.

Good: Fully serviced front brakes this weekend.
Good: Bought calipers ($24 each) and soft lines
Bad: Decided calipers were fine and that slides were bad (so put off calipers/lines)
Bad: Had to make emergency stop at shop this morning for stuck caliper
Bad: Brand new calipers and lines didn't help me by sitting on shelf at home
Good: Shop got part from parts store across the street for $25 and total job was $107 (with flush) and got it swapped out fast.
Good: Jeep has less chance of burning to the ground on side of the road now
Bad: Someone else touched my Jeep

Mine was fine until a ham-fisted buddy of mine who likes to yank himself into vehicles by the console hoisted himself into my XJ too many times.

I still recommend it. I wasn't sure the $50 price tag was worth it, but I'm convinced. The difference between the metal bracket and even a good OEM bracket is pretty big, and since you're already gonna be in there...

I'm going to put in sound-deadening one of these days...

I am leaning towards this for the floor on the advice of a fellow forum member.

I did a little write up documenting what I have done so far.

Oh suckage...

I ****ed around with the transfer case linkage for what seemed like forever. Linkage off, you can put the lever in each position and it all works. 2H 4PT 4FT N & 4low all work. But all hooked up, no matter how i adjust it i can either have 2H or 4low, cant get both. Somethings outta whack, ill have to get a bit more creative.

Once i was sick of that party, i pulled the winch, then got rid of the Sir Bottomtooth bumper.

Looking better already, lol.

It sure does. That stinger looked ridiculous, but it looks nice and clean otherwise! It's kinda odd seeing the drag-link come down on the driv... uh, I mean the left side like that. LOL

Yeah i thought about that, but the angled pivot on the trans tunnel is interfering. Im not hitting the ends of the gate, just not getting enough travel in the linkage. Lol, the one thing i didnt take a picture of today.

Yeah, its confusing as hell working on this thing, lol, and i keep getting in on the left side. Starting to drive me crazy.
