My intent with the pics was to answer doubts as to them having a reasonably focused light pattern . These may not be the equivalent to the $500 lights out there , but for $100 they are 100% better than the stock lights.
Finally got around to taking pics. Low beam first pic, then High.. Great pattern on both..
maybe it's just the pictures, but the cutoff doesn't look great at all? Again maybe just the pics on mobile, but they seem to suffer the same fate of all the cheap multi led headlights ive seen.
I really like my truck lites. They have been the best lights that i have owned and lasted for past four years with out any failures. However, they are by far not the cheapest option out there for LED lights. The OP lights that he was looking at from ebay are good but don't know about the quality. I have a couple jeep friends that have used them and had mixed results at best. I hope that you are able to have good luck with them.
Would you be willing to post a pic of your headlight beam pattern for comparison sake?
I am hoping to install a set of LED headlights in my XJ, but I am not happy with the pics above of the "spider eye" looking headlights beam pattern. It should have a nice sharp cutoff like what is posted on page 1, but instead they have a hot spot with a little glare scattered above.
I would love to see what the cutoff of the Truck Lites looks like.
Thanks.

This topic is one that comes up regularly so all I will contribute is this, Remember that not all states have DOT testing or Federal Inspections. Its your rig, use what you can afford and more importantly what is legal in your state (If applicable to inspections). IE, My Genssi lights are legal here in FL, but are not in say CA or NJ due to not being DOT certified. Yes, I know DOT is nothing more than a stamp on the housing that does not reflect the "quality" of that light. Now we do have a few members like mschi772, who have all kinds of links to the different lights and their output for your usage if you ask.
I bought a set of the $100 Amazon ones listed above. I had them on one night and yes, they were brighter than stock, the low beam pattern sucked. I was trying these to see if I didn't have to buy the best on the market. Well I sent them back the next day.
I bit the bullet and bought J.W Speaker 8900 Evolution 2 models and cannot be more happy with them. Great pattern and bright. These exceeded my 2016 RAV4 with factory LED Projectors and that car had the best lights of anything I have owned (53 cars/trucks). There is a reason they are the best on the market.
I'm sure I'll get flamed for sharing, like the Facebook page did but I don't care so flame away.
Flamed for what? Sharing that you had a bad experience with a product and listing EXACTLY what the issue was? That's how forums are supposed to work. Now if it was "These SUCK!" and no explanation why, that would maybe be flaming grounds.
I picked up a set of JW 8910 EV2 with smart heat.. Here are thermal pics of smart heat grid. They really do heat up great. These will for sure melt snow. Im just waiting for a big snow to really test them out.
Here is a pic of them off.
Here is a pic of the smart heat working.
Ive had,,Trucklite, Jw 8900, now Jw 8910 smart heat..
I can say that from my observations all three have just about the same look of light output on low beams. Granted there might be small variables in light output but you wont really see it with the naked eye.
all three have good low beams about equal. Its the high beam on the JWs that really rock.. The 8910s have dual burn,, wow its like a small light bar went on.

Its about time they added the defrosters to all of their line not just one light.People like me that see snow most winters not having a defroster in the led lights held me back from buying them.

But that same 100 bucks spent carefully can get you a headlight harness h4 hella h4 housings and a good set of bulbs,That is probably has better useable focused light then the ebay led headlights have.
hard pass... cheap eBay and Amazon led headlights aren't good. They burn out quick, most let moisture in, numerous reports of them flicjering and not working correctly, and they don't have a good cutoff so they blind other drivers, even if you try add aim them... if you live in an area that gets snow, led lights don't create enough heat to melt the snow..... if you really want some, led headlights are one of those items that it's best to just pay and cry once..jw and trucklite are the good ones. There is another brand, but can't think of it offhand
Everything I was going to say was already said right here ^^^
A lot of people see the whiter/bluer color (higher Kelvin rating) of the LED's & mistakenly think the output (Lumens) are "way brighter". While this *can* be the case in some situations, often it's barely brighter but displays in a more vibrant color so it seems brighter.
There are a lot of other factor to determine whether a headlight is actually good or not besides just being bright. A good low beam cutoff, even distribution of light, wide beam pattern, etc...
Often these LED headlights are really just lightbar technology re-packaged into headlight form. That means a beam that mimics your highbeams/ flood light which it NOT ideal for low beam on-road use.
There are a few budget options that have come out recently which utilize a projector similar to the JWSpeaker which are pretty good for the money (check out Highbeam Offroad's Predator Series). So far nothing beats a good HID Projector Retrofit but for in the LED realm JW Speaker & Trucklights (now owned by Rigid Industries) are the leaders for a reason.
The best inexpensive option to a headlight upgrade on a Cherokee remains the Autopal 6054 H4 (doesn't have to be E-code the regular ones rock) and a harness, even just the harness is better than nothing.
