I bought these off Amazon last fall. Absolutely fantastic lights. Someone once commented about "light scatter" or something.? All I know is these work VERY well and look cool. Plug and play. Just swap these in and they plug directly in to the original plugs. Zero issues. Love em.
I have these in both of our XJ's and they are fantastic. DOT approved. Super light dispersion, especially to side of roadway. Paid less than $100 per set on Amazon. Have had them for almost a year and no issues with operation or water infiltration.. Here's a pic of the daughters with those lights..
You are correct but I will say this, they have a very focused light pattern. The low beams have a definite horizontal cut off. I have yet to be flashed by an oncoming driver The high beams on the other hand, are stupid bright...
I am a big fan of the way projectors look, I get tons of compliments on them - they look like eyes at night time.
I am not a huge fan of any of the LED options to be honest. clear H4 housings look a bit cheap to me, but the best look is the factory fluted glass housings though - just looks so "classic"

Have you got a link to those lights and how much waffle king???
I'd have to see the cutoff to believe it. I've yet to see a pair that had the multi-LED's in the arrangement that didn't provide more of a flood than an actual cutoff beam.

Yeah, unfortunately they're not actually DOT approved, neither are the High Beam Offroad ones. Not that you'll actually run into an issue, but just an FYI.
SAE Cert does not equal DOT approved.
The imported market got wise to the DOT deal, and just had "DOT" stamped, casted, etc. into the housing.
Want to know a reason why JW Speaker, Trecklite, Rigid, etc. cost so much?
Getting DOT tested and certified costs money.
Unless it's from one of the big ones, you can pretty much assume they're not actually DOT approved.
I really like my truck lites. They have been the best lights that i have owned and lasted for past four years with out any failures. However, they are by far not the cheapest option out there for LED lights. The OP lights that he was looking at from ebay are good but don't know about the quality. I have a couple jeep friends that have used them and had mixed results at best. I hope that you are able to have good luck with them.
I bought a set of the $100 Amazon ones listed above. I had them on one night and yes, they were brighter than stock, the low beam pattern sucked. I was trying these to see if I didn't have to buy the best on the market. Well I sent them back the next day.
I bit the bullet and bought J.W Speaker 8900 Evolution 2 models and cannot be more happy with them. Great pattern and bright. These exceeded my 2016 RAV4 with factory LED Projectors and that car had the best lights of anything I have owned (53 cars/trucks). There is a reason they are the best on the market.
I'm sure I'll get flamed for sharing, like the Facebook page did but I don't care so flame away.
