We are getting some snow today. Went to work took care of some things for about 3 hours and decided to call it a day. I have this hill near my house. Short, maybe 3 houses long, pretty steep, and to make the turn onto it have to come to almost a dead stop. So with about 6" of snow decided to see something. 4 lo with my Cooper Discovery HT's, 225 75 15, right up it like it was nothing. Very pleased. Now it doesn't sound like much but as I have said before. I am older and my days of thrashing around out there are long over. Still does not mean I won't own a Jeep. For this very reason.
Finished up the rust repair in the floors for now, and bled the clutch. The new spark plug wires definitely made a big difference. I still haven't figured the stumble out yet.
Well don't feel too bad.... I feel like I've been doing nothing but fixing one damn failure after another on this thing.
I don't mind that so much as long as I can drive it too. lol I have tried to buy a windshield 3 times now and everyone wants to also charge me installation on top of the windshield cost even though I have explained that I have to put it in because now the Jeep needs to be shaped to fit the windshield. "OK... we will sell you the windshield, but we will also charge for installation even though we are not installing it." No you are not...
Without having the windshield first, I have no template to work with to make the frame right. And I'm not going to pay for a service I'm not even receiving. It's extortion!
Okay.. so we all know that it's "pics or it didn't happen" lol... so here's the latest all done.... I think it turned out pretty well. It was a royal PITA, but worth the time. Still a few more finishing touches to put on it, but 95% done.
One more for the day... don't know how it happened.. but the driver's side door window glass somehow got out of the rubber guide track. and was pinching it when closed. So pulled that apart and got it reseated. Noticed it a few weeks ago, but today was the first day that it was warm enough outside to still have feeling in my fingers to pull it apart.
And of course the 18 year old plastic door panel fasteners practically granaded even being careful using the right tool. So had to track some of those down afterwards. lol....
