Yup those are the ones I want... I live the fact that they are black around the LED projections... My jeeps getting the all black look. But more than that, they are quality and dot, and good clean cutoffs. Any way we could get those against a she'd or something for a good idea of pattern, both high and low beam?

 

if these were perfect they would be heated..... theyre not, anyone in the snow belt buying these will learn to regret buying LED headlights. sucks trucklite hasn't released theirs in a heated version

 

I think most here would be smart enough to keep their old stock or H4 housings for winter time. Hell, it only takes about 5-10min to switch them out.

First up, this was an old thread so ease up on the negativity. Not everyone builds their rig to YOUR standards, they have their own. A few, like mischi772 (our resident lighting expert), have already pointed out that there is no heater grids on any of the 5x7's YET.

Secondly, not everyone lives in the snowbelt. For those that do, they are well aware of this setback. So they have to deal with it if they want to run TruckLites, JW Speakers or others.

Third, TruckLite has been working on and experimenting with adding heater grids to their 7" round series, it just has not made it to the 5x7's YET, as I stated earlier.

So to come out and call over half our members rigs "Ricer S***, that's not right.

 

The point would be to have one set suited for fair weather, the other for foul.

It's only ricer if you have angry eyes and halos.

So far in three winters, I've only been in two situations where my TruckLites have frozen over. Both times, regular halogens wouldn't have helped anyway because they scatter more light vertically into the falling snow. TLs definitely aren't for everyone all the time, but they've been great for me thus far.

Regarding heated TruckLites, don't expect them for the XJ/MJ/YJ. TL manufactures heated 7" round lights because the military demanded them. When I contacted them in 2015, they told me they have no plans to ever offer the 5x7s with heat. Of course that could change, but I've heard the military switched the contract to JW Speaker, so I wouldn't count on it.

 

They don't bother changing out the LED traffic signals every time it snows.

If you don't want your headlights to freeze over just buy a GMC, problem solved.

 

So by that definition, having 2 sets of tires - one set for snow, one for regular season - is ricer then too, yeah?

By the way, when I installed the HIDs I used to have, I kept my sealed beams just in case the HIDs broke... which they did 5 years later.

Also have my stock springs sitting in the garage too... guess my **** is JDM, yo.

 

Just tape these to the bottom of your LED housings and avoid using them when its warm out.

Motorcycle grip heaters with 12v switch. Easy to wire and install and works for me driving from 9,000 to 5,000 feet in the winter.
