Might've missed a couple oil changes along the way, but I'll take it. Redid the main seal, coated with assembly lube, I'm feeling better and better about this swap pic is definitely BEFORE the new seal went in.
Got an alignment done yesterday after putting a new tierod/draglink on like two months ago. The guy told me the toe was only out a quarter of a degree from me doing it in the driveway. Not too bad!
My dad just bought a new vacation house in the local mountains of Lake Arrowhead. After helping him unpack, I decided to do some exploring. The start of the trail is literally across the street from his house. Cant beat that. Found some massive pinecones too.

It's pretty country up there... My Aunt and Uncle had a place right down the street in Big Bear. I took Waterman Canyon Rd in an old 60 Ford F100 to San Berdo one time from up there. Boy was that an experience at survival driving techniques! My brake fluid was literally boiling in my master cylinder even though I had it in second gear with the engine off! lol

That is exactly the path I took up and back. Its definately a nice steep and windy road. That f100 probably had drums all the way around? If so, I could see that getting scary. Here is a picture from about 5000 ft up looking over San Bernardino.

Yep that was it. And when you get down further it gets much steeper and windy as you get down to where the houses are.
And yes... it was four wheel drums and a single Reservoir master cylinder. Tell you what... that trip back down made me retrofit that 60 with a later model double Reservoir Master and lines. lol
I grew up in an old CJ7, that we would take from Rowland Heights to the mountains. Going up, no problem, wheel all day, no problem, come back down that mountain?
Took it to horse pasture road, basically a very poorly maintained road that requires 4wd maybe once or twice. A while back I broke the very rear exhaust hanger off and was too lazy to fix it, well now the hanger on the crossmember ripped out too so I have a large exhaust leak and no hangers holding the exhaust. Going to wire tie it back up, but need to think of a permanent solution soon.

Angel's Crest was also similar if you ever went down that one, but not at all like Waterman. This was the only time I was ever truly thinking I was going to have my brakes fail. It had me contemplating my defensive controlled crash options. lol
