What about a down-facing LCD?

A smaller screen like this wouldn't completely block the HVAC controls;

Or a 7" but it would almost certainly block the HVAC controls a bit

Actually, it looks like it wont block the HVAC controls

The smaller one looks like you might be able to keep it open all the time. Chrysler and their stupid 1.5 din... the folding down doesn't look bad. I never saw a fold down previously. hopefuly the OP saw ypur post, as that's a good alternative.

I did a little more digging on that particular one and the reviews are terrible. They last a month or so. That's too bad, I kinda want one.
