Just got back from my deployment late last night. Went straight to the garage, fired the old girl up and took her for a quick lap around the neighborhood. Came back and said hi to the wife lol Ahhh it's good to be home.

Also, ordered my extreme winch bumper from dirtbound. Can't wait for it to get here!

If that isn't the definition of the "jeep thing", then I don't know what is, haha...drive the jeep before the wife after a long abscence, this made me chuckle this AM

So yesterday to not waste the rest of the nice day I started messing with the passenger seat that I want to turn into a drivers. Not going to be easy and there will be a fair amount of mickey mousing going on here. I separated it from the frame and then grabbed the cleaner of the two driver's frames which will have to be prepped and POR 15'ed. Let all the rusted seat springs soak overnight in Evapo-Rust with the tow hooks. That stuff is great. I am still on my first gallon. I just put whatever into a container, fill it with enough to cover, let it soak, and put it back in the gallon jug. I figure sooner or later it will stop working but hasn't yet. So still have to prep and POR 15 the tow hooks. Today decided to take take it easy and tackle part of a few on going projects because of the possibility of a shower here and there. Finally got my new cowl seal in. Pulled my rear bumper caps in preparation for putting on the new ones that I bought awhile back. I am going to make a couple of adjustments as to how they bolt on and how I am going to attach my mud flaps to them this time. Crawled under the Jeep to see how the Transfer Case Skid will hang. Which I already POR 15'ed awhile back. Thinking the holes don't line up. Have two in the tranny cross member and one in the uni-body. Thinking 5/16" rivnuts will work in the existing holes and will have to drill one more in the uni-body. Also thinking am going to have to elongate one hole in the TC skid for the uni-body. Also put the plastic part of my running boards and door molding in the Jeep. Goal is too get them to Line-X tomorrow. Thought long and hard about whether to put the door molding back on and decided I would. Hoping that the Line-X'ed running board plastic and door molding will give a nice look to the Jeep. I didn't get a quote or talk to them about my roof skid strips but thinking I would bring them down and see what they say. Not really sure if I want to put them back on. Not like I carry anything up there.

I wish I had the money to mess with the ac on my Jetta. It would be nice to not have to choose between gas mileage and ac...

AH! Well, that should work better, lol.... 3M adhesives and solvents are top notch! I love what they make.

Welcome home, brother! Glad you made it back safely, and glad the Jeep started right up for ya. I'll bet that first drive felt great, huh!
