Sound deadened the doors also.

Decided it was time to finally fix my rusty floors and try to quiet the ride down a bit. Took lots of pictures and its a lot quieter now.

 

Looks awesome... what sound deadened material did you use?

 

Noico 80mm of Amazon. Took 82 square feet for 4 doors, hatch, roof, and floor.

Couple of questions: When you welded in the new floorpans, did you butt weld them or overlap the old metal? Also, what did you use for coating? Looks good, that's my next project so just looking for info.

I had a few golf ball size holes rusted out in the cargo area, as my XJ came here from the rust belt. I wasn't near as thorough as you were, just took some JB putty and filled the areas. After it hardened, I spread out a couple quarts of bedliner in the back.
Last week I did a trip, and dust was still coming in, must be another hole at the very edge, behind the plastic trim panel. Oh well.

 

I did a slight lap weld. I took the new pans and put them in before I cut out anything and marked the edges with a sharpie then just cut about 1/2'' below my line. As for the liner I used Herculiner (kit from O'riley was around $100) and let is dry for 1 week before I started to put anything back in. 1 gallon was plenty to do two coats and have some left over.
