So with the lousy weather can't get into much. Didn't do a thing yesterday. Figure had to accomplish something. Started soaking my factory tow hook hardware in the Evapo Rust. Saw this stuff awhile back and wondered about. Couple folks gave it a thumbs up. Figure give it a try. I have two sets of factory tow hooks with all the pieces and 99% hardware. The worst of the two sets hardware is what is soaking now. Didn't occur to me to take some before and after shots. Fished a piece out quick and took a shot. We will see what the after shot looks in 1 - 12 hours.
This is after about 4 hours. Well you really can't tell anything from my lousy pictures but the EvapoRust did make a noticeable improvement in the hardware.
Changed the oil to 5w30 (from 5w40 T6). Oil pressure kind of sucks at hot idle, going to add some random "oil stabilizer" like hyper-lube and see if it helps at all.
Also put the front shaft back in after the SYE install. Smooth as butter at 80mph. Going to paint the rear shaft tomorrow I think and try to get the parking brakes sorted out.
Finally getting everything dialed in after the 8.8 swap
Putting everything back together. My motor blew so I got a fully rebuilt 4.0 and swapped it. Had some issues, but nothing too bad. Now I can spend money on upgrades again!!!
Just got a call from my step dad. When the piston skirt busted it also took out the cylinder wall. ****. Now I need a new engine.... What are the odds of the block being busted on an engine that supposedly threw a rod? Might steal the motor from project free ride to use as a core.....
Painted the F + R driveshafts. Rear driveshaft is out of a WJ and was re-tubed 1" longer because it was bent from the Junkyard (this one was salvageable though, many in the yard are completely bent). Threw some stickers on for a few extra hp.
Also dialed in the t-case shifter (Boostwerks), painted the windshield wiper arms after my windshield replacement yesterday.
Called a few garage door shops and all refused to crimp on a new end for my parking brake cable, so guess I still need to figure out what to do about that, but it's driving beautifully with the new rear shaft. No driveline vibrations till 85+ MPH which is all I can really ask for.
4.88 gears are awesome, can't wait to get some 35's on there at the end of the month. The 8.8 install saga is nearing its conclusion (thank god). Pinion angle could use 1-2* of angle still, but I don't want the 8.8 to be too angled and starve the pinion gear of lubrication.

I wish my driveline saga was that simple. It's never ending vibrations for me.
