Default How can I add a 1 inch lift to a 4.5 inch lift to clear 35x12.50x20 tires

4.5 inch rough country lift suspension lift bought from amazon
35x12.50x20 rims and tires (paid 1,000$$ for them off a buddy otherwise I wouldn't of went that big and now I am really regretting going that big)
35 12.50 mudgrapplers
20 inch moto metal 962
2 inch wheel spacers (came with tires and rims from my buddy)
Home made front and rear bumper
So my problem is my tires rub really bad even after trimming the fenders, also i can't fit any type of fender flare on the jeep cause the tires are too big so every time I hit any type of liquid it splatters all over the side of my jeep, but i heard if u have 5.5 inches of lift you can clear 35s and i already have 4.5 and i dont wanna have to buy another lift, so is there any way to do a body lift or something to get another inch out of my suspension so i can clear my 35s and be able to put flares on? If anyone has any info on this I would be happy to hear it cause i am really regretting buying 35s right now.

sorry to hear man, i feel for you.

and at 5.5 inches i wont recommend anything other then a long arm setep. If you want long arms your gonna need adjustable control arms, adjustable trackbar, and sye which hopefully you already have these. And probably upgraded steering and a regear of your axles are probablyb in order. Especially with those heavy *** grapplers

JKS ACOS for the front.
RC shackle relocation brackets and RC shackles in the rear.
You can easily get to 5.5" with both, and probably over 7"

The tires are too big, PERIOD. Looks like you're trying to do everything on the cheap and squeezing those 35's under there is anything but cheap to do. Unless you just cut more of the fenders out. Better yet, take the fronts completely off

OP - post up some pics of your rig.

I am planning on going to 35's and have an RE 4.5 SuperFlex lift (short arm kit) and will likely be doing something similar. Coil spacers in the front and new leafs in the back until I convert to a long-arm setup in the future.

I already have most of the supporting mods (sye install this weekend), just the coil spring spacers and either new leafs or some lift blocks or something to raise the rear 1". Also finish chopping the rear wheel wells and massaging the fronts a bit more.

The main reason I am going to 35's is because I over geared a touch and need a taller tire to bring my highway RPM's down (stupid reason because I am dumb and have no foresight). I need to drive from Colorado to FL this summer and need new tires before the trip so I guess I am upgrading a bit early.

Here is with 33's. Honestly the front I could probably just bumpstop but I dont want to limit my uptravel too much

sell the 35's & stick w/ 33's, unless you really want to open that can of worms.

There is a reason you go in stages when building up. It's easy to go to a shop and say I want to run 35". But it is basically re-engineering your drivetrain and this means upgrades to: brakes, steering, gears, sway bar extensions, all connector lines, roll bars/safety cage. After you build up you will still be chasing little things like death wobble. Slippery slope.

Without a doubt. 35's are not a bolt-on mod for the XJ - 33's you can pull off with trimming and a 3.5" lift but 35's need more than 5" of lift to comfortably flex I think
I started with 31's, moved to 33's, and will be moving to 35's

Supporting mods include
SYE + ZJ rear driveshaft
RE 4.5" (soon to be a hybrid 5.5") short arm kit (long arms are nice)
HD Track bar
Upgraded steering
Ford 8.8 swap + rear disc brakes
GG rated PowerStop Z36 pads + centric premium rotors
Leaf shackle relocation in the rear
4.88 gears
loud stereo (to drown out the tire noise)
etc

A full interior cage IMO means you should be wearing a helmet when you drive it on the street, meaning it's no longer a streetable rig (crack your head open on the tubing in a serious on-road accident). But I don't really wheel that hard that I feel the need for a roll-cage yet

it's a really heavy setup up though... those grapplers are one of the heaviest tires available. And 35s, those tire are like anchors for an xco.

I take it you don't really off-road any. Those tires are miserabnle for a daily driver.

No to be honest I am not a big offroad guy but every once in a while I like to hit a trail or some mud but it is kind of a struggle to do that right now. And those grapplers are probably some of the loudest tires I have heard going down the road, it can get annoying. Does anybody have suggestions for front axle coil overs? I think I am going to try the shackle relocation brackets for the rear like some of you suggested. Thanks again for the information everybody!!

And I think I would like for it to be a coil over spacer, if anyone has suggestions for those?
