Looks really good, alway's loved the red xj's. Me and my wife are also planning on traveling the country in are xj..Hope to see you all out there..
Thanks! That would be awesome to run into some other keepers out there. Also the lift came in. Gonna be busy this weekend but I'll start on it after work next week.
So I got the back end lifted and undercoated. Everything's going pretty smooth. Had to cut out the leafs but that was fine because I had new shackles with new hardware. Not one of my lower control arm bolts is frozen to the sleeve so I'll cut that out today. I'm undecided on what tires to go with now. I was thinking the bfg at ko2 but now I'm thinking cooper st maxx. Both 31 10.50 r15. What do you guys think? Also I ended up getting about 5.5" lift in the back.
Both tires are good choices. Can't really go wrong with either.
Did you get 5.5" above what it was originally? I'm sure you netted more than 3.5", but 5.5"? That's quite a bit, but with RE, I wouldn't be too surprised.
Definitely go with an SYE. Tcase drop isn't even worth it. I'd skip it altogether if you can swing it.
Give the leafs time to settle. After a couple good wheeling trip, mine dropped a lot (same leafs). I am probably sitting at a 5" lift in the rear right now but that mostly due to my shackles. Once the relocation boxes go in, I should be around 4" to match the front.
As for tires, I went with the K02s and couldnt be happier. Would highly recommend them.

I ended up sitting 5.5 inches higher than i was with the old leafs. My old leafs were sagging some but not terrible. From stock im probably up 4.5 inches higher.

Yep. That's what I was thinking. 4.5" sounds about right.
Well I got the lift on and got everything underneath all cleaned up and painted and drove it a little. Just need to get some new tires and have it aligned and we should be good to go. I'll try and take some more pictures of it too. This is the only one I have right now. Looks funny with the 225s too.
Looks good! Either of your tire choices would be great. I'm running KO2's on my F150 right now and love them. Have had the Coopers in the past and they were great too.
