Sweet! Looks like a good project for both of you to wrench on
Its a perfect project for HIM. I have done enough wrenching on mine already haha. Ill just supply the tools and space. He can do the rest. I will help when needed like he has done for me
It is really fun to work on each others rigs. I learn so much from working on my own and even more as we tackle new up-grades and maintenance things I have never done before. We are going to get ready to do a axle swap this week on a friends rig.

Took the Jeep out yesterday for some b-day fun. Loaded the Jeep up with every kind of tool and food possible and headed out. We went out to Afton Canyon which is about 2 hours north from my house. Its an old mining area. So there were a lot of cool things to see. At the very start of the trail, there is a water crossing. I was warned that it could be pretty deep at this time of the year. Well since I was leading, I went first. It was up to about the top of my tires until about halfway through. Then it dropped another foot! (I will try to get the video posted up. The Gopro went under water for a little haha) All that I saw was water coming over the hood and I just kept slowly chugging along hoping to keep it running. The whole crossing was a couple hundred feet. So needless to say, that freaked me out but I crossed fine. The doors actually seal pretty good and no water came in. My friend with the Renegade came along too but we deemed the crossing too deep for him to cross. So he parked it and hopped in with us. So yes I broke the # 1 rule of dont go out alone. Good thing all the trails were pretty flat and smooth so I was not too worried. Long story short, we made it to 5 of the 7 planned destinations and had a great time!
EDIT - Forgot the most important part. I got 24 mpg on the way out there! I only got 18 mpg on the way back but that was due to traffic. Lots of stop and go. My radio also died while I was out on the trail. Guess it didnt like all the rocks. However, my airbag light went off for quite a while and the cruise controlled worked. But as soon as the airbag light came back on, no more cruise control. Sounds like its time for a new clock spring.
Man that looks awesome! Wish we had trails like that here in South Florida...
You know that is probably the one and only thing I like about CA. Within 2 hours of my house, I can go to sand dunes, really rocky mountains, trails surrounded by huge trees, the ocean, places with lakes and streams and of course, lots of mines (not the kind that blow up). There is actually a volcano I want to go to next. It has a bunch of tube trails (caves) that go on for miles. I always like my off road adventure to have little attractions along the way that you can stop and explore. Goal for next trip - over night tent camping.

Cali definitely has some awesome trails and amazing scenery. Once I get my jeep back on the trail you'll have to come up this way. We have a ton of fun trails and attractions out this way. Only a couple hours from you.
I also want to go do a lot of the trails in Big Bear.

Sounds good to me. The drive up to your area shouldnt be too bad. My friend knows big bear trails so whenever you are ready let me know! My house is only 40 min or so from there. Once it starts to warm up, big bear will be the spot to go (for people close by). Not looking forward to the +100° days in the near future.
