Replaced the oil pan gasket. Now I can actually keep oil IN the engine.
I don't know how, but I guess I gacked the old gasket when I installed it, because it was torn in two at the back of the pan.... definitely explains why it was pissing oil when I parked it
lol.... yeah probably right. I found it a lot easier to remove the bottom bolt of the starter, loosen the top bolt so you can rotate it out of the way. Then I had to jacked up the front end to get the pan to clear the bellhousing and the axle. Keep in mind, I'm already lifted 3.5"
When I replaced it the first time, I was stock height... I can't remember every detail about the install, but I remember for SURE I had never touched that starter before my 4wd conversion lol.... so that's probably how I boogered it up.

Im waiting to do mine until I have my front axle and suspension out completely. Should make things quite a bit easier. (i hope )
drained the trans and pulled the pan, ohmed out the 1-2 3-4 shift soelenoids and they checked out, checked the 1-2 accumulator springs, checked out good. fluid looks awful, doesnt smell burnt tho. going to change the filter again and fill it up with more fresh fluid and drive around again and see if it helps at all.
still need to pull the t-case and fix the leak there as well, and tweak the shifter so i can manually shift into 1/2
frsh fluid on the left, fluid from the trans on the right

Believe it or not, the fluid in my aw4 was worse than that.

If it doesn't MISTER California, you don't belong near a car!
well I checked my starter and the bolts were tight. so I started it and let it run for a half hour, then discovered an oil puddle under it, I'm hoping I messed up the valve cover cork gasket when I tightened it back down, those 2 back bolts were probably loose when I bought it.
continued to get nowhere with the trans, put a real scanner on it and electronically it checks out as best as i can decipher, still no 1-2 shift after fresh fluid.
