Default rough country leaf springs warranty

i posted a while ago about my leaf springs having a gap inbetween them and people recommended that I get new ones. i did exactly that but now i'm wondering what to do about the RC springs. they have a 5 year warranty on them, but nothing actually broke, it's just pretty dangerous to drive on so the best thing i can do is probably send them to scrap. it's a 3" RC pack with a 4.5" add a leaf added.

i contacted RC, but while I wait for an answer, what would you expect if this were your springs? does it fall under faulty springs or that's just what I should expect from RC? i linked pictures of the springs below to give you an idea.

thanks!

You might consider a set of Rustys 3" leafs they are vg quality and made in NA. I use them for my 4 1/2" lift but use a 1 1/2" Boomerang Shackle for the best flex.

My leafs have been on for over 5 yrs and not any problems with them, very little sag even with carrying a heavy load in the cargo area all the time.

i already got some rubicon express leaf springs a couple months back, difference is night and day

the thing is, the shop i bought the kit through was in talks with rough country about this issue (because they are positive they installed the add a leaf correctly and it was fine when they did it) and now that the shop closed, I have to figure out what to do with the springs. i don't want to sell them because they're shot, but i can't ship them back either because it'll cost way too much.

here's more pics i just took. (PS: any idea what angle that shim is?)

Easiest way find the angle of the shim would be take it off the pack and put an angle finder on it, you can download an app for your phone, or the harder way you could measure the length of the faces of the shim and use some trigonometry to find the angle.

edit: by posting they magically appeared, so nevermind this post.

Add a leafs are for stock leaf packs not lift packs. That's your problem.

True but like I said add a leafs aren't meant to be used in a lift pack.

I'll agree.

That said, any hope of the OP gaining anything from this effort is pretty much nil...

He replaced his leafs....OP, were you expecting money back? Fat chance... but, besides that fact, do you think RC will honor a warranty, after their original leafs were modified with a AAL? Even if it came from them? I don't think so.

Bottom line here is RC is junk, scrap the old leafs, lesson learned, move on.
