I drive this Jeep 1100 miles over 3 days starting Thursday, any suggestions? I am bringing extra oil, coolant, and hose clamps, anything else I should bring?
I am also bringing most of my tools since I am moving to New Mexico. So I will have a full jack, battery charger, jumper cables, sockets, wrenches etc etc.

I have an extra CPS from the '96 manual trans, starts this one up just fine, so I'll make sure to pack it. Can't tell if you're kidding or not, seems a tad excessive but I asked so I will take the advice.

You just never know,
When I go on road trips about 3-400 miles at a time, I always make sure I have gallon of oil/oil filter/cps/u-joints/jack/my tools, spare tire/and a gallon of coolant or water/duck tape if a hose decides to make a hole....and spare tire just in case...
I know I may seem over conscious about a small trip but better safe than sorry, and that saying, better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it...

True true - and not so much a small trip. North Dakota to New Mexico.
Made it in yesterday! Noticed a few things that need correcting. Bump steer induced death wobble. Gonna get another alignment to see if that corrects it. Also had a loose rear tire that snapped a stud. Don't know what it was loose.. Small oil leak, possible the valve cover. My door lock button stopped working so the rear hatch won't lock. And for some reason it stopped wanting to fire up on the first turn of the key. But it does just fine on the second. Possibly fuel pump?

But it got me 1100, so I can't complain too much.
That's awesome bud, glad you made it safe!
I thought jeeps always had that 1,2 or 3 crank before it starts
Not sure we are talking about the same thing, I'm talking about I can turn and hold a the key and it cranks and cranks. But then I can let go of the key and turn it again and it fires up normally.
Just ordered my TM5's from 4 Wheel Parts. I need those, then I'll do paint, then take those to get tires. I am pretty sure I want 31s, but I'll have the shop put on some 32s and 33s so I can see how they look. Little worried about the Flat Flares opening up the wells to much for 31s.
TM5's are a good wheel for the price. I went with 31s before I got my bushwacker flares. I really wish I went with 33s, I just didn't want to deal with gears and stuff. Should have just got them anyway.
Getting tires Saturday. This picture is proof my alignment was ****. Only have to make it to work one more time.. Wanted to paint the TM5s prior but they will have to be close enough and I can paint them later down the road. Getting Big Foot A/T. They look similar to the hankook tire I was considering and have a great warranty.
Got my tires and alignment. It drives so much better! Less creaks and noises when turning. I thought about going bigger but I like the look, not too over sized so they will be good for daily without regearing until later on.
While I was there I met a guy who makes custom bumpers so we will see how much he charges and hopefully it's reasonable. I think it will look really nice when the bumpers close off the wheel wells a little more.
