That was definitely the leak! Got hit by hard rain and opened the hood and you could see the water just pouring right onto that fan housing / foam gasket. Slathering RTV around the bottom half of the fan appears to have done the trick as the interior is dry as a bone now.
Definitely the first place to look if that happens to anyone else. It's cheap and easy to fix.
Hey Yinger, I'm having the same problem but in my case i found the gasket or grommet that hold the antenna cable was put out for some reason and was allowing a stream of water unto the floor. So anyone should look for that!
