Some trends that I have noticed-
Stock 4.0L- 135rwhp/160-165rwtq (crank 190HP/225TQ)
4.0L+'All the bolt on's' +15rwhp/+15rwtq to 150rwhp/175rwtq (crank 210HP/240TQ)
4.6L Stroker- displacement+CR(+15%)+cam(+8%)+head work(+7%)--195rwhp/245rwtq (crank 260HP/ 328TQ)

 

Yup. I custom ported my head, larger valves, valve springs, custom camshaft (designed by me), custom pistons, rods, crank, milled head and block, larger injector and MAP and custom headers. Went full on with this one. Am still toying with a Centrifugal Supercharger design and custom TBI hat to match. Keep in mind, I am not running an AMC or ChryCo crankshaft but rather a weighted Marine crankshaft. Marty, I may run my design past you later on for some friendly advice/idea swapping and development.

187rwhp/215rwtq is very healthy from a 4 banger.

 

I'll admit, I used a few notes/designs from The Archer Bros and Mike Lesle. Both of which only used 2.5Ls

 

I have about 1500 miles on the new engine and still runs great. Took a 200+ mile trip. With out an OD gear (4spd), we cruised 65-70mph at 3200 RPMs and got 20mpg. Not bad for a 1986.

 

Ok, sorry, I've been slacking. For starters, the engine is in and runs great. People seem to think i have a 4.3L V6.

 

Got rid of the blue and went with some CARC paint i got from the motorpool on base. still needs a few more coats as i only had a little bit to work with.

 

Ditched the Rusty,s 3" springs and spacer for a set of Rubicon Express 4.5" coils thanks to Xjwonders. Added my Rough Country LCAs and dual steering stabilizer while i was at it. Now she sits at 5" all around. (Still haven't used the lift shackles yet, they're still on stock height setting)

 

Next up, had a friend at a race shop custom make me a full aluminum radiator and swapped out the valve cover for an aluminum one thanks to 88whitecomanche.

 

Thanks to Nates4x4, I got one of the first five sets of his SWB MJ sliders and a friend ordered me one of his rear bumpers as a gift.

Goodbye small little 35, Hello beefy Tracloc D44! The old D35 was 3.55 and the D44 is 4.10.

 

Incase I forgot, I've upgraded the headlights with Rugged Ridge H4 housings, Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulbs and a Putco headlight harness. Added new turn

signal and side marker lenses as well.
