I had to mount the winch solenoid box backwards. This is temporary until I can run different wires. There just isn't enough room between the grill and the winch to run the wires behind the winch.
I bet you hardly notice it mounted in front of the mirror? I like the way you did that.
Yup I forget it's there most of the time.
Had to turn down the microphone sensitivity because Dat Jeep's exhaust pretty much maxes out the DB level on the camera.
That and I tend to sing with the radio a lot.
Not the greatest dash camera available, but worth the money. AMAZON.com
Made myself a receiver mounted flag pole, here's what I used:
-3/4" x 60" Black cut pipe or Galvanized pipe works too.
-3/4" x 1/2" coupler
-1/2" x 1" nipple
-1/2" Cap
-3/4" Cap
-2x 3/8" x 4" eye bolts
-4x 5/16" washers & 4x 3/8" nuts
-2x 3-1/2" double-ended clips (to attach the flag to the pole quickly)
-2" receiver with a 1" hole
-Flag (duh)
3/4" x 60" Black cut pipe or Galvanized pipe works too.
2" receiver with a 1" hole
Made in USA of course.
3/4" x 1/2" coupler
1/2" Cap
1/2" x 1" nipple (pictured is a 2" nipple, too long use the 1" or "close")
3/4" Cap
2x 3/8" x 4" eye bolts
4 5/16" washers & 4 3/8" nuts (not pictured, but used in final install)
2x 3-1/2" double-ended clips (to attach the flag to the pole quickly)
Basically the idea is to sandwich the receiver between the 1/2" cap and the 3/4" x 1/2" coupler.
My flag had metal grommets spaced 33-1/4" apart.
So I drilled the top hole approx. 2" from the end of the pipe(high end).
Then I measured 33-1/4" and marked my second hole.
Secured the eye bolts with some 3/8" nuts and 5/16" washers(they fit better than 3/8" washer)
Just needs some paint and need to install the top 3/4" cap
(lost it somewhere between my Jeep and my garage)
Will post pics this weekend.
On a side note; Does anyone know whether it is legal to fly a flag on a vehicle in Minnesota, specifically Rochester, MN?
Or where I could go to find the legality of doing so?
I'd rather not try it and get pulled over. LOL
Looks good! From what I've been told it's illegal.. I've only seen one truck pulled over(not sure if it was for the flag) but you could try to contact the city of Rochester and they might be able to tell you! I'd like to know for future reference too.
Man that dash cam works great! A friend of mine gave me one he got cheap. But it would not mount in the same place as yours so I have not given it a try yet. But after seeing that video I will have to give mine a try.
Installed the other half of my dual transmission temperature sensor setup.
This is the PRE-radiator/transmission/feed cooler sensor, the other sensor is post-radiator/transmission/return cooler sensor.
I am now able to closely monitor my Jeep's transmission cooling efficiency better.
