Alright hello every one, long time watcher first time posting,

Here is my current build: 89XJ with 93 ho motor and tranny, almost all of the vacuum garbage is gone except for what is absolutely necessary, 8" clayton coil conversion long arm kit, eddlebrock headers, mean grean starter, dana 30 sleaved with molly shafts, dana 44 sleaved with molly shafts, lockers and 4.56s
sitting on bfg 35s. everything done in about a month and a half this past fall.

now it ran pretty good right after all components were installed however while running i can only shift into RND, i cannot shift into park or downshift with out turning the motor off. when i first put everything together it shifted fine. any ideas, Ive checked the fluid and shift linkages, also tried the tcu from the 93 no joy.

Sounds like you've a problem in the vavle body remove the cable on the side of your transmission and see if you can manually shifted it through all the gears.

 

while running?? It shifts fine when its off.
