I've put some miles on my red letters on and off road, in the rain, snow and ice. I really like them. They are a bit heavy and without re-gearing the Lemon is a bit sluggish, but in all they really work well in most situations.
So I got a few things done and added to the axle. It's moving slow but in the right direction I think. I ordered Iron Rock's 1/4" I-beam truss and a set of JKS's 1/4" shock mounts and had Rozzo Fabrication burn them on for me. I cleaned it up a bit and shot it with some primer to protect the bare metal.

Now it's time to concentrate on the insides. I'm thinking 4:56's, lunchbox locker and some cromo shafts for now.

Its been awhile but I finally got a little time in the garage to work on the 44.
I got a set of Grand Cherokee disc brakes off of Big David in the for sale section here a few months back and proceeded to pull them apart to mod them to work on my 44. They showed up at my door in perfect condition along with the parking brake cables and proportioning valve. First step was to measure and re-drill all the mounting holes for the caliper bracket and backing plate.
all re-drilled and mocked up.

Next step will be opening up the center hole in the brackets and backing plates so the larger bearings and seals on the axle shafts slip through.

I loved them, they were just heavy tires, lots of rotating mass. I made the jump to 35's and with a more aggressive tread I am getting better fuel mileage because the tire and wheel combo is about 8lbs lighter now per corner then when I was running the 33" grabber's with the same wheels.
