Hello nickzdad
I purchased it (refurbished) online at allcomputerresources.com with no issues the computer came ready, just plug and play. All they needed was your vehicle VIN number and the mileage of your vehicle, a short explanation of your issue and your name and address. The return of Your old PCM will act as the lifetime warrantee of the unit.

I had the same issue with a customers 97 cherokee. First thing I did was unplug the crankshaft sensor to see if the gages came back. If yours do, change the crankshaft sensor. Mine didn't so I went a little further and found out that if the cam sensor/pickup in the distributor shorts out it will give you the same condition, no gas or volt gages. I replaced it from napa for 49.00 and the jeep started right up. Hope this helps. I was on this jeep off and on for a week.

Ya do that and let me know.. u just need a paper clip bend it and put in both 30 and 87. The key will not even need to be on. As long as the jeep has power u dont need the keys.. if it dont kick on like that then its got to be a short from the relay to the plug on the pump.. or it just might be goin out. I know that if u beat on the tank sometimes u can get a little more out of them but they do funny things wen they go out. If the fuel guage does not work thats a first sign.
Hey guys, I really need your help. I've been using this forum to repair my 2001 Grand Cherokee 4.7L and I've done everything up to this point. I have replaced the fuel pump, replaced the crank shaft sensor, and tried jumping the fuel pump relay and I am still not getting any power the pump. Using a multimeter, I was able to determine that there is no power to the orange wire which, per this forum, is the continuous power. I have checked every fuse under the hood. I've been at this nonstop for about a week.
Please help with any suggestions. If it is a short, considering the answer above, how would I go about fixing that or finding the short?
Dawn - what are the symptoms with your Jeep? Why are you suspecting the fuel pump to be the problem?
My problem was un-related to the pump or the PCM or any of a dozen other things I tried and there is a possibility that your issue may be presenting itself as a pump problem but may, in fact, be unrelated.

Dawn, you won't get any power to the pump unless the pump relay is either bypassed or engaged.
The way the system works is when you start cranking, the PCM gets a signal from the CPS telling it the crank is actually turning. Then the PCM turns on the ASD and pump relays. The ASD relay controls the ignition and injector circuits. When the PCM first comes on with the ignition key, it sends a short burst of power to the fuel pump to charge the fuel rails with pressure.
Are you getting fuel pressure? It's not uncommon for the wires to break where they go into the plugs. Try pulling gently on the wires where they go into the back of the plug for the pump. If you need a plug, they can be bought at a dealer. They may have to be ordered, but it usually only takes a couple of days unless a nearby dealer has one. Dealerships usually don't stock parts for cars more than 5 years old.
BTW, if you had a short, it would be blowing fuses. An open circuit is more like it.
