I have a 99 Grand Cherokee v8 and ive noticed the engine running hot. In the winter it runs at 210 constantly. Now in the summer(temp is about 90) my engine runs at 210+. i say about 230. i can feel the heat of the engine on my legs while driving. Is this bad? if so what can i do to fix this?

 

Check or replace the coolant, replace the radiator cap, check or replace the serp belt, make sure the fan is working, clean all of the dead bugs and dirt off of the radiator, check or replace the hoses, and replace the thermostat. The cooling system is one of the most overlooked systems until there is a problem. And installing a "colder" thermostat is not the way to fix it. The thermostat only regulats the minimum tempurature, not the maximum.
