My River Raider Hi-Lift Mounting Kit arrived today and I installed it!
Typical condition for a UPS package

Kit came with two brackets, Hi-Lift mounting Bolts, vague instructions, and a sticker

The mounting brackets fit between these brackets and the interior trim

The XJ brackets that secure the rear seat back in the up-right position have a rubber insert. Don't lose it. It only fits back in one way

Passenger side bracket mounted. The pre-drilled holes in the River Raider brackets line up with the mounting bolts for the seat brackets.

Driver side seat bracket removed

Put the seat bracket bolts someplace safe so you don't lose them. The rear door is handy and works

You can see the holes in the River Raider bracket lined up with the holes in the XJ seat bracket

When those holes are lined up, they will only install in the correct orientation

Snug the bolts to get the bracket mounted flush, then tighten

These are the bolts that come with the River Raider brackets to mount the Hi-Lift to the brackets. The two short bolts secure the base of the jack to the brackets.

The long bolt secures the top end of the jack to the brackets

The long bolt is the same size as the bolt that come with the Hi-Lift for holding that L shaped piece to the top of the Xtreme model, but they are not interchangeable

Secure the base of the jack to the River Raider bracket first, using the two short bolts, washers, and wingnuts

Then line up the top of the jack and secure it with the long bolt, washers, and wingnut

My BFG KM2 33x10.5 still fits under the Hi-lift, but a wider tire will not

I wrapped some rubber material around the jack handle to minimize rattle since I don't have a handle isolator yet

DONE! My little base cannon still fits

Installed the new Gen Right hood louvers with the help of Rottenbelly! Truth be told - I had been up almost 24 hours by the time we started so Rottenbelly installed the louvers with minimal help from restoring!
Last shot of the virgin hood

The Cherokee goes TOPLESS! (at least the engine bay is)

Measuring and marking... and measuring, and measuring, and re-checking, and measure again! Marking and cutting from the underside of the hood protects the paint.

Rottenbelly calmly looks at me and says "last chance".

The first cut is the deepest...

After using a cutting wheel on a Dremel to make a plunge cut, he changed to a jigsaw for the real cutting.

Put it back! It's too late to put it back???

Holes Cut, edges de-burred with a small file.

Flip! Working on the top side of the hood now.

Using a counter-sink bit to de-burr the holes.

Everything lined up perfectly! Rottenbelly installing the louvers using small hex head bolts and nylock nuts instead of the pop rivets that come with the Gen Rights

Both louvers installed.

Hood remounted and re-aligned. This actually went much easier than I anticipated.

Veiw from the front.

3/4 view.

Other 3/4 view.

View from inside.

After installation, we went to lunch. The XJ got to operating temp before we got the to restaurant. When we parked, we could feel the heat POURING out of those vents. The hood next to the vents was a little warm to the touch, but the vents were HOT.
When we came back out....
It started like a dream!
Thanks Rottenbelly!!!

best thing about cutting up/modifying a clean stock truck is that you don't fight stubborn rusty bolts, damage or poorly installed parts from the previous owner. I envy those circumstances; lol.
Looks great bud; I might just look into a set of those louvers. Great placement.
