Hello CherokeeForum.com Family,
My name is TJ but my jeep name is Keiko, named after my beloved wife who recently passed away I see lots of questions and answers on here, so, I thought I'd ask one too. I recently brought a 1996 Cherokee XJ 4.0 6 cyl back in March '17 with 146,000 miles. She has never given any problems till now. I never saw any leaks under it until around June. I replaced the Power Steering Reservoir. When it came to leak under the truck, I was told it was the rear main seal. So, I replaced the top and bottom parts myself, along with a new oil pan gasket. I still see a dripping of oil at the bottom of the bell housing area.,Could this be the oil pump seal needing replacement? Or the output seal needing replacement? And how long can I drive the jeep with a leak before repairing it myself? I don't have $660 to take it a professional at the moment.
