I'm Dale, and I started this club.
My Jeep love comes from my father, who had a small collection of odd Jeeps that I learned how to drive on. One in particular was a 1961 FC-150, with a 4speed, 4cyl in it. When I was 12, my dad was a night watchman, and left me home alone after 4pm. I would sneak the keys and taught myself how to drive it around the private property where we lived. After couple of months, I was a 'pro'. It rained one time and I left tracks dad finally saw. He confronted me about it, so I told him the truth and offered to drive him the next weekend, so he could grade me. He gave me a 'B-'!

Since I didn't live with him full time and was only there for a year, I ended up getting into old VWs with my step-father.

Wasn't til Xmas after last that I got the Jeep bug again. There was a nice 73 CJ5 parked behind my RV park where I currently live. After 4 years of bugging him, he finally offered to sell it to me for $1500, giving me a month to buy it. But after two weeks ( on Xmas day ) he sold it to someone else out from under me. I was bummed and pissed, and was now determined to get a jeep.
After a diligent 4 month CL search, and driving from San Fran to Reno looking at everything, I finally found my 99 XJ two door, with high miles, but immaculate condition for $1550.

Now after driving it for 5K, I have determined that I do not want to modify my XJ, simply because it works just fine the way it is: STOCK AS A ROCK! I have been wheeling in it, and there is very little I could not do. I never got stuck.......yet. I have determined that I will get another vehicle to 'Mod', and I actually have already! I just bought a decent 89 MJ Pioneer. a rare one indeed, with column shift and 4X4, 4.0 for $800. I will lift it and do all my Mods to it.

I just wanted a club for all those stockers out there, as it seems most everyone here is talking about Mods. There are plenty of places to go and things we do in our stock vehicles to talk about. So welcome One and All who join our fine club. I have bets we all outnumber all other clubs in one year! LOL

My name's Ross, I'm 26, I've loved Jeeps since I was 12. Lego satisfied me for a while, but even at a young age I remember marvelling over the elusive MJ! (Saw a couple at a Tim Horton's once, that was a treat). For years I had been dreaming about owning a Jeep some day.

In Sept 2011 my Tercel met it's fate on the rear bumper of a '99 Blazer. Apparently it was filled with red coolant - it looked like it was bleeding in the street
