i just got in to my xj pritty hard over the winterand i went to put the Chrysler 8.25 what do u get them off of a in the yards and is it a pritty good idea to run it or not with the lift and tires or should i just beff up the stock

i have a chry 8.25 suppose to be better than the dana but everyone has thier opinions. they came in them on just about all years i belive. my 93 has one.

I got a '97 2wd with a 8.25, its a stocker and i see them in pick-a-parts all the time in xj's mostly. I haven't had any problems with a 2" spacer and 32x11.50r15's.

i have a 8.25 in my 00, you want to look for the 8.25 with 29 splines on the axles they were in 00 to 01 cherokees the 27 splines are garbage, they were in early cherokees the 29 splined 8.25 are just as strong as the dana 44 rear witch i had stock in my 1966 cj5 it was bullet proof and i never got stuck , stock front and rear no lockers, i have 32 super swamper tsl radials on my 00 and wheel it once in a while with no problems

The dana 35's are most common in the 2000-2001 xj's. i would so much rather have those two more splines than that ****ty 27 splined dana in the rear.
