Hi, I have a 1994 ZJ running on 38" tire with 15" and 13" wide wheels. It has the 4.0L engine and the 249 transfer case.
It has Trutrack lookers front & rear. T-Max air compressor for the indoor lower or higher tire pressure.Adjusable RANCO 9000. Two tanks for petrol, in total of 170 L. etc...
The plan is to swap in the NP242 instead of the NP249. The input to the tranny has already been fix to fit (same size of input shaft length).
Where can I find the type number of the transmission? My 1994 ZJ

The 4.0L I6 ALWAYS used the 42RE transmission, except in the '93 model year (and VERY EARLY '93s at that), where they used the Aisin AW-4 from the Cherokee XJ. You likely have the automatic, as the Aisin AX-15 manual was ONLY available with the Command-Trac transfer case. My old '94 ZJ Laredo had the 5.2L V8 with the 46RH transmission and the NP249 Quadra-Trac transfer case. The computerized control system where it could detect wheel slippage was state-of-the-art at the time. It would be a lot easier to keep the NP249 Quadra-Trac transfer case IMO.
