Default Quarter panel armor question

Thinking about buying a set of quarter panel guards sold by mountain vista fabrication. Are they worth getting? What are the drawbacks if any?

IMHO you are buying them for the look, because I don't think they protect enough to justify the investment.

If they made the mopar armor for the xj I would be all over them though.

no, protection. at least on a few occasions its been a bit of a challenge to get the rear past a rock or something without risking breaking the window. thought if i had them i could drag it through.

The down side is to mount them you have to drill holes and mount rivnuts in them to bolt them on.Some brands won't work with a stock gas door but theres a mod to use a tj filler tube thing. As far as protection anything is bigger then just sheet metal,No they don't protect the tail lights. But i rather replace a tail light vs banged in quarter panel and busted out side window.

And i would contact him before you buy,He has a tube front fender flare https://mountainvistafabrication.com...t-tube-fenders
So if you like that and he has a matching rear set coming maybe hold out for those.

UHH... I cant wait to get some MVF F&R crush-less fenders. Have been thinking about making some haggard versions, but I will probably just wait until these are released.
