loose shifter - repairs or replacements out there??
i posted this awhile ago with no response but now that we have a mod section i thought i would try again.
96 grand - shifter is loose (side to side, and a little back and forth), which is the normal mount as compared to other grands i have checked out. has anyone replaced it with something more firm or did any modifications to theirs to tighten it up?

every time I drive the jeep I think about this. I might fab something up because it does annoy me and gives an impression of an over used clapped out vehicle.
how can I remove the shifter ****? is it a twist and pull thing or screw on?
