Default I want to swap in a 5 speed Manual in my ZJ

Hey all im new to the forum and i plan on being on it alot. i know i will be haha. but i really want my 98 Grand Cherokee Limited to be a stick where could i find a tranny that would bolt up to the 318 i would like it to be a 5 speed like my moms TJ and if i do this conversion what would i need to do to it computer wise so it wouldent freak out with out the auto there. Thanks for the help.

You'd need a stronger trans look at ones that came on a v8 factory.Also do a lot of searching,Or ask/look around on http://mallcrawlin.com/forum/content.php they build some crazy off roaders on there.

Thank you. what came with a manual from chrysler that had a 5.2 or 5.9 that would be easier to find, do you know?

I can't tell you a name off the top of my head but i know the dakota and ram both came with a v8 and stick 4x4 so those would be your best option.But i have no idea on which side the t case drops on those so keep that in mind also.

I think, mind you, that the t/case still mounts with 6 bolts like a jeep, so the jeep t/case should bolt right up, but I'm just guessing. Check with a local scrapyard and they may be able to let you look at some different ones.
