Default Pushbutton ignition - Why/How do I undo it?

So... I'm not entirely sure why (And I'm hoping the answer isn't "The ignition coil is bad" or something similar, but I'm braced for that impact) whoever did this did this? One end of the pushbutton is connected to the battery, the other disappears under the engine. After being tight across the manifold, where you can clearly see that it's being melted through and why?!?!?!

Also, how do I un-fix this?

If the coil was bad then that wire isnt going to be the fix to make it run.

The wire would go from the battery, to the switch, to the starter. So instead of the starter getting the 12v from turning the key, it is getting it from the switched wire.

does the ignition switch still start the vehicle? I am guessing that it does not because it is broken. either that or someone thinks its cool to have

But not cool enough to wire it to not burn through and then not start at all looool

No idea if it starts without the pushbutton. I think the truck may need to have a lot of stuff either rewired or fixed. I am so scared now.

Before you spend any time or money on it start with an FSM for $7.95.

Or, the NSS needs cleaned or is faulty and someone installed a push-button start to bypass the NSS to allow it to run.
