Default Keyless entry receiver help

I apologize in advance as I started a thread on the tech help forum.

I am installing a keyless entry receiver in my 1999 cherokee xj. There is a chip up in the upper console. I downloaded the Pacific service manual.

I do not do a lot of wiring stuff, so I need help in figuring out the harness that was attached to the receiver.

ver.

These 2 pics are what I am trying to figure out. On the overhead harness, from left to right, the colors are yellow/black,purple,dark blue, light blue/red stripe, black, black, pink, yellow. There is glare in the pic which makes the colors different that what they are. That is why i put the exact colors in this post above.

I am worried that if i cut the wrong wires, that something may not work.

My plan is to attach just the power, ground, unlock and lock wires.

So if I cut those 4 wires and leave the harness unattached to the old circuit board do you see a problem doing that.

Also, do you know from the info that is here, which wires are unlock and lock? I think that they are dark blue and blue with red stripe.

thanks

before you start, you need to get a wiring schematic.

just curious, why are you replacing the OEM board?

Well I think it cost less to install a generic instead of buying keyless transmitters and have them reprogrammed.

As for the schematic, I can not find one that shows the wiring harness that is in the pic.

I would appreciate any help that anyone has on the harness.
