Hello everyone, new Jeep owner and forum member here. Not sure if this is the right tab for this, but here it goes. I have what appears to be an aftermarket cruise control switch (and presumably accompanying mechanism) on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport. It doesn't seem to be functioning, although this may be in part because the lever itself is broke. I was just wondering if anyone had seen this type before and if so, where I could find a replacement, or if not what would be a recommended way of going forward with it. (Should I open and uninstall it, ignore it, is there a similar and workable substitute? etc.) Thanks for any help! I have the picture below.
I vote get rid of it.
A factory cruise control is one of the easiest things to add to an XJ that did not come with one.
If you have all the right parts it is literally plug and play.
One of the first things I did to my XJ.
Google it and you will find plenty of write ups of what you need and how to do it.
Oh and when you are at the boneyard stealing the parts to do it grab that lower piece where the hole for the aftermarket one is drilled.
That open hole will annoy you.
Trust me on this one. LOL.
