Center Console light upgrades too. Waiting for the new console to show up. Just to show difference in the bulbs.

THANKS for the info. Although the compatibility info says they may not fit a '96 I compared the photo with one of mine and it looks like a match. The contacts are outside the diameter of the socket on both. At Rock Auto the pic of a Wagner PC194 shows the contacts on the inside. You used your OEM sockets? The price of the bulb with the socket isn't bad at all.

Agreed! The last thing I want is a bright dashboard interfering with my night vision. I run mine pretty dim.

Bright dash lights may look cool, but it's really a bad idea.

I can definitely APPRECIATE that but mine are turned all the way up and at least to me leave a lot to be desired. Could be the old bulbs which are the originals? These LED's that are being discussed can still be dimmed using the dimmer control.

Mine dim. Not a whole lot. But enough that's it's not blinding. Although it's not to begin with.

Earl could be just Mark and I are old guys lol. When my wife drives something she turn the dash lights off, you can't see anything and I hate that also.

I ask myself that everyday and now know why they say youth is wasted on the young.

But I never waited to do anything my father did that and died 6 mo. after he retired and worked all the time to save money to do things. I swore then that would not happen to me so I tried to do it all throughout my life.

Blue is the worst possible color for night vision. Look up, "visual purple" if you want to know why.

Someone also said "Life begins at 40". That's for sure! All the fun and games are over and the pains begin.

My father made it not quite 4yrs after retirement. Died at 69. Should be and interesting yr coming up for me. He never did do much of what he wanted to do. Me? I got out of the city in '76 and never regretted it.
