Default Amature Radio install

Hi, I didn't know if this was the right place to post this or if there were even any hams on here, I'm looking for a good place to install an EF Johnson 5300 in my 2000 Cherokee, I've considered the side of the center console but I didn't know if anyone had any better ideas.

Thanks!

I don't know if this helps but I mounted my yaesu 857d under the back seat with the face plate on the dash above the am/fm radio. The mike hangs from the rear view mirror on a mike hook.
