Default 05 wk stereo issue

So i recently purchased an 05 cherokee that had a stock stereo (w amp) the radio did not play sound at all(powered on tho), i assumed it must be a bad head unit swapped it out now i have a kenwood aftermarket with the proper can bus crutchfield harness. The new radio still powers on but no sound. So from here im thinking it has to be the amp.

i pulled the quarter panel today and the larger of 2 harnesses had some corrosion starting , like the green that gets on batterys, not bad tho and i spraayed it with some wd40 still doesnt work. does the amp show any indication its powered on? where do i go from here

It's most likely the Boston Acoustics amp or the wiring going to it that's bad, and it was most likely water damaged... do you know if the Jeep was ever in a flood? Are any of the other electronic components in your Jeep or the ECU not functioning properly as well? The amp doesn't have any lights that show it's on, other than that if it's not functioning properly, it may get excessively warm to the touch.

If you don't want to install an aftermarket amp, I'd run new wires to all of the speakers and "bypass" the stock amp.
