I feel you. Go big. Seriously considering blowing my 4.0 to justify getting a stroker. Not going to do it but....

GM Gen3/4 LS-based engines are only getting less expensive. Not sure if you are on Naxja, but there are a handful of XJ and MJ LS swaps. Just as reliable as the 4.0L IMO, and parts are plentiful. LS > Magnum. Period.

GM makes a 4.3 that is just as bulletproof as the 4.0. Also the Buick supercharged 3.8 is remarkable. The power it puts out is amazing. My Lady had a 97 Park Avenue Ultra that never quit. Four hundred thousand something miles before she "retired". Maybe look into that 3.8 before you upgrade.

A forced induction 3.8 buick swap would be awesome.

an LS swap would be awesome no lie, but spending $12-15k to get the swap done and working with the 4L60E is just out of the price range for the build. and if im going through the trouble of swapping in a new motor, its either going to be a V8 or Cummins.
