I am looking at buying an '88 Commanche and want to know what all I need to be looking out for when purchasing.
What will I be doing with it?
The plan is to build a street-able weekend warrior...something along the lines of 5" lift on 35s. I plan to wheel it.
What I know about it from the ad and owner so far...
It's a 4.0 and runs good
5 speed manual
Body is in good shape with no rust spots (highly unlikely, but we'll see)
2 wheel drive
Needs minor TLC - rip in seat and turn signals don't work...nothing major
Now all of this of course needs to be confirmed, but what do y'all think so far? Is it a good base to start from you think? They're asking for $1,200.*
Attached some not-so-great pics. Any help in the matter would be appreciated!
Not a bad price if the miles are crazy high. That is at least in my area. Hard to say what they are going for in different places. You know the mileage?
go take it for a test drive...if you find things that don't make you happy with the price then make an offer.... $1200 for it running and driving and "rust free" isnt bad.... floor board rust is an easy fix.... but rust above the rear wheel wells isn't as much fun... Definitely try to check behind those fender flares on the box for rust
