Default 1991 Comanche crank but won't start.

Hey guys I just purchased a 91 comanche (won't be picking it up for 2 weeks yet) but I did go look at it today and I was informed that the motor will crank but will not start. It has a new distributor and a new fuel filter and I mean brand new. I just want some heads up on some leads I should follow to track down the issue. My first guess would be CPS but before I go chase anything I would like some other advice. Thanks!

Id check codes first. Then Spark and fuel with pressure confirmation.

Has spark and good fuel pressure. I am going to see if the distributor needs adjusted I asked the kid if he checked TDC when he installed it and he said he didn't know what it was so I'm pretty sure that's the issue.

Got it running and it has some blow by. It should be good until I get the xj back with the stroker in it then I can start a motor overhaul on the MJ
